HASA bestows four awards annually to members who have
contributed dedication and leadership to the Hillsborough Public Schools
and to their professional organization. The
DR. EARL J. LENNARD LEADERSHIP AWARD is presented to a HASA member who has
demonstrated outstanding leadership ability.
The HASA PROFESSIONAL
INVOLVEMENT AWARD is given to a member who has advanced the
professional image of the school administrator by action, word, or deed.
The HASA PUBLIC RELATIONS AWARD
is presented to any person or organization whose efforts have resulted
in a significant increase in public knowledge of the services or
accomplishments of the Hillsborough County Public Schools.
The RAYMOND O. SHELTON AWARD
is given to the person who has made contributions to the Hillsborough
County Public Schools in an outstanding manner. Only current
members of HASA may submit nominations for these awards. No current
member of the HASA Executive Committee may be nominated for these
awards. These awards are made at the Annual Spring social which is
usually held during the last week of May. Members wishing to nominate
someone for any of these awards should contact their HASA Board
Representative or Alternate and request a nomination form.
The LYLE FLAGG LEADERSHIP AWARD
is presented at the discretion of the president of the
association for leadership displayed over the course of the year
by any member of the Board of Directors, special project
consultants, and/or newsletter editor. This award is based on
leadership, commitment, and service given well beyond the call of
duty as determined by the President.
