SPECIAL PROJECTS COMMITTEE

The HASA Special Projects Committee is responsible for various social activities throughout the year.  The three most noted are the Fall Social, the Hillsborough County School Board Forum, and the Spring Social.

The Fall Social, which is usually held in August or early September, gives the members of HASA an opportunity to meet with colleagues.  Prospective members are also invited to this social and encouraged to join HASA as their professional organization.  The Superintendent, his staff, HASA officers, and other prominent guests are introduced.  This is an exciting event to begin a new school year.

The Special Projects Committee is also in charge of the Hillsborough County School Board Forum.  This forum gives HASA an opportunity to ask the School Board about topics of concern involving education.  It is the goal of the committee to make this forum a festive event, held in February of each year.  The invited guests for this dinner include the School Board, the Superintendent and his staff, the HASA Board, and members of the dinner committee.

The Spring Social happens to be the most relaxing event of the year and is usually held in April or May.  All HASA members are invited to attend. Dinner is always catered and the Special Projects Committee also ensures that there are various door prizes. Scholarships and rewards are presented to members and the retiring HASA Board members are recognized.

If you would like to work on a very exciting and energetic committee, the HASA Special Projects Committee is certainly the committee for you!  Mary Cunningham chairs this committee and can be reached at Ballast Point Elementary, 272-3070.
