REASONS TO JOIN

ü     A forum for all component group members, including retirees, to share mutual concerns.

ü     Direct voice with the Superintendent and her staff.

ü     Direct contact with our School Board members via annual School Board Forum.

ü     HASA membership and representation on the district’s Salary and Benefits and Health Insurance Committees and other county-level groups and organizations

ü     Influence with our local Legislative Delegation via the Political Action Committee that endorses and supports state-level political candidates.

ü     A Legislative Committee that continues to lobby to improve educational matters and other retirement benefits.  

ü     HASA members’ presence in Tallahassee during the Legislative Session to lobby for district issues and HASA interests. 

ü     Quarterly newsletter that provides information on latest local and state issues that impact our profession. 

ü     Networking and coordinated efforts throughout the State of Florida with other administrative and supervisory professional groups via the Tampa Bay Area Coalition. 

ü     Web page that helps to communicate news with members, including updates in benefits, legislative updates, and important future events.   

ü     A strong voice in FASA (Florida Association of School Administrators) to pursue legislative issues that impact our profession. 

ü     Fall Social for members and invited guests to meet and enjoy professional interaction. 

ü     Spring Social where members of component groups are recognized and honored for special achievements.   

ü     Opportunity to enjoy the fellowship, council, and support of retired administrators and supervisors who understand and appreciate the challenges of our profession. 

ü     Low and reduced-cost services provided exclusively to HASA members by HASA’s business partners. 

ü     Free legal defense coverage in employment related issues for members in good standing. 

ü     Opportunity to develop leadership skills and network with colleagues at all levels of administration.  

ü     A scholarship program for our members who are pursuing higher degree and teachers who are aspiring to become administrators.   Six $1,000 scholarships are awarded, sponsored by HASA and various Business Partners.   

ü     Professional development grants for members wishing to attend conferences, workshops, and/or participate in special professional development projects, etc.
