HASA, the Hillsborough Association of School Administrators for the School District of Hillsborough County, Florida, is not a union and it does not collectively bargain for wages and benefits. HASA is a professional association of almost 800 school educators who are assigned the responsibility of administering the 9th largest public school district in the United States.

Membership to HASA is offered to 13 groups of school administrators, supervisors, and managers both at the
district and the school levels.  Included in these thirteen groups are Deputy Superintendents; Assistant Superintendents; Directors; Instructional Supervisors; Technical, Career, and Adult Education; Non-Instructional Supervisors and Managers; School Principals; Assistant Principals; Instructional Coordinators; and Retired Administrators/Supervisors/Managers.

The vision and mission of HASA is to enhance the general welfare of its members, encourage unity, establish effective communications among its member groups, exercise leadership, and promote the needs of its members and the needs of public education. To accomplish these goals, the association is governed by an Executive Board and a Representative Board composed of representatives from each of the 13 groups. Members pay annual dues and a budget defines how these membership dues are spent. A paid Executive Director,  a paid Administrative Assistant, a paid bookkeeper, and a paid webmaster are charged with the day-to-day operation of the association.

HASA provides various opportunities for its members to get involved with the many activities, functions, and standing committees. Annual Spring and Fall Socials are designed to provide members with time for social and professional growth and development. At these events, members are recognized for demonstrating leadership and exemplary dedication to public education. HASA awards annual scholarships to high school graduates who aspire to become educators, teachers who are studying to become school administrators, and HASA members who are pursuing advanced studies. The association has a very active Legislative and Benefits Committee that works to promote effective communications with the Superintendent of Schools, the School Board, and members of the Florida Legislature.

HASA is pleased to welcome all friends of public education to utilize the information provided by this web page. We are constantly striving to meet and exceed the vision and mission goals that we have proudly enunciated. We welcome all present and retired administrators, supervisors, and managers presently not members of HASA, to consider joining our prestigious organization. We also encourage the general public to share with us its ideas and suggestions on how we can together help make the Hillsborough County schools the best in the nation.
