The name of this Association shall be The Tampa Bay Area
Coalition of Associations of School Administrators " THE COALITION".
To promote the general welfare of its member Associations,
encourage unity, establish effective communications, share resources, share
information on pending legislation, and advance the needs of public school
administrators and the public schools.
Section 1, Charter Members:
The Coalitions charter members were: The
"Hillsborough Association of School Administrators" (HASA), Polk Countys
"Association of School Based Administrators" (ASBA), "Sarasota County School
Based Administrators" (SCSBA), and the "Manatee County School Administrative
Association" (MCSAA).
Section 2, Additional Members:
"Pasco County Association of School Administrators" (PCASA)
became
a member as of June 2003. "Pinellas Administrators Association" (PAA)
joined December 2003. "Sarasota District Administrators Association" (SDAA)
joined February 2004. "Lee County Educational
Administrators Association" (LCEAA) joined April 2004. Hernando
County and Seminole County joined October 2006. "Orange County
Administrators Association" and "Brevard County Administrators Association"
joined December 2006. Charlotte County Administrators Association (CCPA) joined the Coalition in
August 2007.
Other School District School Administrative Associations can
be admitted at a later time by application.
Section 3, Membership Fee:
Future membership fees may be the same as below or other as
determined by the Coalitions Board of Directors.
Section 4, Membership Fee:
The initial membership fee for Charter Member Associations
will be a one-dollar ($1.00) assessment for every dues paying member
belonging to each of the Associations. These funds will be deposited in an
account that will be controlled by "The Coalition". Said funds will be used
to pay incidental expenses such as stationary, postage, etc.
Section 5, Future Membership Assessments:
Should in the future "The Coalition" decide to conduct a
seminar, sponsor a reception, conduct a political activity, or be involved
in other such functions that would require additional funds, member
Associations would have to approve any such assessments in an equitable way.
Each member Association shall provide a Representative and
an Alternate to the Board of Directors. Each Association shall have one vote
when deciding on issues concerning the welfare of "The Coalition". The
Coalition Board members shall elect a President, Vice President, Secretary,
and a Treasurer from among its Board of Directors. "The Coalition" may at a
later time decide to employ an Executive Director who will be responsible
for performing the day to day duties that will keep "The Coalition" active,
involved, and moving foreword.
Section 1, Termination of Coalition:
"The Coalition" shall continue as long as at least three of
its member Associations support it.
Section 2, Termination of Coalition Members:
Termination of membership by any Coalition Member can be
executed by submittal of a letter of resignation from membership.
ARTICLE I MEETINGS
The Coalition Board Members shall schedule meetings as
needed. Special Meetings of the Board may be called by the President or on
request of two members of the Board. All topics of business for which
meetings are scheduled must be stated on a written agenda and said agenda
sent to all Board Members at least two business or working days prior to the
meeting.
A quorum for all meetings of the Board shall be a majority
of its members.
ARTICLE III DUTIES OF REPRESENTATIVE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Representative Board of Directors shall approve the
budget, set amount of dues, act on reports of committees, approve
resolutions and other policy statements, and give advice and consent to the
President. It shall adopt rules governing employment of staff.
Section 1, Election:
Member Associations shall select their representatives and
alternates and they in turn shall elect officers.
Section 2, Election of Officers:
Officers shall be elected every other year by majority vote
of the Board of Directors present at a Board meeting designated for that
purpose and shall serve for a two-year term beginning on July 1, and ending
on June 30. (Amended August 18, 2003)
The respective member Associations, by whatever method they
choose, shall fill Representative and Alternate vacancies on the Board of
Directors. Vacancies in the offices of Vice President, Secretary, and
Treasurer shall be filled by a majority vote of the Board of Directors at a
meeting designated for that purpose. The Vice President shall assume the
office of President should the President resign or is not able to continue
to serve.
