Past Presidents and Executive Directors

Welcome back to the 2010-2011 school year.  I hope that your summer was enjoyable, your training activities were inspiring, and that you were able to find time to relax and re-energize!

As your new HASA president, I am looking forward to working with a strong executive and representative HASA board to continue in our efforts to represent our members and constituent groups at the district and state levels.  We are continuing to look for ways to successfully achieve our five-year strategic goals.

Of the sixteen goals established for 2007-2012, the alternative certification program for district level staff has been fully developed, a COLA for administrators at the top of the pay scale has been provided, and we are almost at our goal of having 900 members by 2012. The professional development grants

Dr. Linda Denison
2010-2011 President

program for HASA members has been funded for the second year, and the study of administrative salaries comparing our district’s salaries with the top seven national school districts, the top Florida school districts, and the districts surrounding our district is in the final stages of completion.

As we enter this school year, our focus will be on the following goals:

1.       Work with Superintendent Elia’s staff to clarify HASA’s role in support of the Empowering Effective Teacher’s Grant program.

2.       Continue HASA’s leadership in the 14 county Tampa Bay Coalition of Administrators.  Dr. Miliziano and the HASA coalition representatives have been asked to meet with districts statewide in an effort to mentor other regional administrator coalitions.  FASA is supporting and encouraging these regional coalition partnerships as a means of effective communication regarding identification of needs, and focusing on legislative issues affecting all levels of educational leaders.

3.       Seek and support business partnerships with companies whose services can benefit our members

4.       Fully implement the new administrator/leader mentoring program piloted during the 09-10 school year

The challenges facing our district and its leaders are ongoing, but attaining these goals will provide much needed resources and support across all administrative levels.  I urge you to communicate and connect with your HASA representative to see how you can help and get involved!

I look forward to a successful year as we work together to make HASA the strongest administrative organization in the state.
